EnQuest’s leadership and management are provided by a team of seasoned veterans who have an extensive background in the energy service sector. Many of these individuals are entrepreneurs who have started and led their own enterprises. They know the level of commitment and dedication that is required to operate a successful enterprise and meet customer’s expectations.
W.T. David Murray, President & CEO
Formerly, Mr. Murray was the founder, Chairman and CEO of Irontree Oilfield Services Corp. since 2002. He was the President and CEO of Bayridge Resources Ltd., a private oil and gas company with operations in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan. Bayridge was sold in April 1997 to APF Energy Trust. From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Murray worked for Sharwood and Company, an investment bank located in Toronto with a focus on the energy sector. During this time he participated in financing various companies for over $200 million. Mr. Murray holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary, majoring in finance and accounting. Mr. Murray is responsible for the overall leadership of the EnQuest business plan execution as well as increasing customer and shareholder value.
Christopher W. Challis, Senior Vice President & COO
Mr. Challis was the co-founder, President and COO of Irontree Oilfield Services Corp. since 2002. From 1999 to 2002 Mr. Challis was the Vice President Business Development of Cage Logistics Inc. and later on VP Operations of Speedy Heavy Hauling Inc. (Wyoming) a subsidiary of Cage. Prior to joining Cage, Mr. Challis was a Research Analyst for Helmsdale Financial, a merchant bank in Toronto and Calgary. Mr. Challis has a Bachelor of International Management from the University of Lethbridge with an emphasis in Corporate Finance. Chris is responsible for the overall leadership of the United States operations.
Mark Duncombe, Executive VP of US Operations
Mr. Duncombe has been with Speedy Heavy Hauling since 2002. Prior, Mr. Duncombe spent 8 years in corporate development at Speedy (predecessor company). Mr. Duncombe commenced his career with Speedy in 1979 in Alberta. His responsibilities included roles in dispatch, safety, supervisor and general manager. Mr. Duncombe is a graduate of the Lethbridge Community College and received a civil engineering designation in 2002.
Ben Lorencz, Vice President of Transportation
Mr. Lorencz is also the General Manager of Twilight Oilfield Hauling. Ben has been with the company since 1988 and is responsible for the day to day operations, team leadership and meeting customer’s needs. Over the years, his contributions as a leader has significantly influenced the company’s development and positioning within the market. Ben has 30 years of oilfield transportation, heavy hauling and rig relocation experience and is responsible for leading the Transportation division in Canada.
Mary Culp, Senior VP Finance
Ms. Culp has been the Senior VP Finance of Irontree Oilfield Services Corp. since 2004. Ms. Culp has over 30 years experience including a tenure at Grant Thornton LLP and was controller at Anthes Universal Inc. Prior to, Ms. Culp served as director of the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce and a Director of Finance for other non-profit/charitable organizations. Ms. Culp is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto.
Diane Hooven, VP Finance
Ms. Hooven has been VP Finance for Speedy Heavy Hauling Inc. since 2002. She has close to 30 years accounting experience. Prior to joining Speedy, Ms. Hooven’s previous experience includes a tenure at Personal Touch Bookkeeping, controller of McDonald’s of Four Corners and Internal Auditor of Public Service Company of New Mexico, a gas and electricity utility company. Ms. Hooven has successfully completed the CPA program and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Business Administration and Accounting from Fort Lewis College.
